A Look Proposal by HUE HOUSE

Introduction

“Amidst the complex Mexico City, a man drives a public transport bus during daytime and works the night shift impersonating Mexican songstresses in a drag cabaret.”

Our approach with this film is inspired stylistically on fine art films and formalist realism. We want to provide an intense sense of place with Mexico City that doesn’t lean on traditional ‘golden Mexico’ tropes, but rather transports you with a feeling of being in the actual place.

There are two distinct worlds within our main character’s story - ‘his’ DAY life and ‘her' NIGHT life.

Both looks will maintain this sense of realism, however the DAY life remains banal, and gritty.

As our hero transitions to NIGHT, the palette gradually shifts to be more vibrant, gaudy, even psychedelic - yet still gritty and real.
